About us

The Name:

U.A.U.O stands for Unauthentic Unoriginal. But you probably know that by now. The word unauthentic doesn't necessarily mean counterfeit, another definition of unauthentic is, not made or done in a way that reflects tradition or faithfully resembles an original. So new or original in its own way. Unoriginal means derivative. Derivative meaning imitative of the work of another person and usually disapproved of for that reason. So a parody, homage, or tribute in some cases. Also the Unoriginal part of the name comes from 2 more things; Just cause it's original doesn't make it good, because anybody can do anything. And nothing is truly original by definition anymore, the definition being Not dependent on other people's ideas. Everything is inspired from something and every idea comes from another idea. The name is also supposed to be off-putting if you don't know what it is or the meaning behind it. It forces you to think. I don't want people to start wearing the clothes because they heard of a cool new brand, or because the designs are cool. I want people to be curious about it and do the research and buy it because they actually care about the vision and what it's all about. But even if you don't care about it or just heard about it, it stays with you.

Our Vision:

The goal of this brand is to create a community of misfits, outcasts, rejects and everyone in between with a common goal and belief, similar to a cult. Doing good whenever we can, or doing bad whenever we can't. We want to be able to give a voice to those who aren't able to express themselves the way they want to. For the people that get picked last in sports or get left out of parties or groups. This is your team, this is your group,

this is your cult.

The Slogan:

Everything's Fucked. We're Here To Help.

Originally it came to me in a dream when I was first putting the brand together. I had a dream that I was just walking down the street and on the other side of the street there was a person walking towards me. I look up from my phone and I see the words "Everything's Fucked" on the front of his shirt. And as he walked past I read the back of his shirt and it said "We're Here To Help" and I remember how excited I was because I had made that shirt in the dream and some random person was wearing it not knowing who I was. But it made me think of what this could become, how big of a community we could be and how much good we could do. It was a big motivation in getting this brand off the ground so it seemed fitting for the motto. Because no matter how good things are, things are always bad somewhere else. And the goal for this brand is to be able to be as much help as possible and do as much good as we can as a collective. That's what its all about, make friends with the kid nobody likes, sit down and have lunch with the homeless guy down the street, pay it forward. Everything comes full circle good and bad. Maybe being able to bring people together and do some good deeds will negate some of the bad karma I have, maybe it won't. But either way If I can help someone out who's struggling, whether its by giving them a purpose, giving them a social group that accepts them, or just giving them some dope clothes to wear, then it's all worth it.

The Brand:

Everything about the brand is a reflection of the people around me, the environment I'm in and the things and situations I've experienced. Either an idea I had on the bus or a parody of a brand I don't like, or even a parody of a brand I do like. Everything is an influence when it comes to the designs, the names of the collections and what's in them, or the types of products I make. If you know me you probably had a part in making all this come together whether you know it or not. Even if you don't know me and you're reading this right now. You're a part of the brand. Whether you support it, hate it or don't care about it, either way you played a part in making it happen. We're all connected as humans living on earth, this brand just adds a sense of direction to it, and with everyone working in unison, there's nothing we can't accomplish.
